Took zocor for several years thru same cardiologist and started having muscle pains and was found to have prolapsed mitral valve. Had open heart surgery to repair valve! Could the zocor have caused the prolapsed mitral valve or just a coincidence. Was always healthy prior to being put on zocor do to elevated colesterol. Was taken off medications due to muscle pains and was told didn't need to be on them anyway due to no signs of cardiovascular disease!
