I was wrongfully charged (felony) in Md. and due to police and prosecutors incompetence and misconduct I now have a criminal record. Do I have recourse against the P.D.The police and the state new for four months that their only witness to the alleged crime was not a us resident and was not in country and had no intention of being in court to testify, yet were unwilling to drop charges. Do the police and states attorney have a legal obligation to the court to drop charges under these circumstances.. Innocent til proven guilty, what a joke. Not only did I not get my day in court to face my accuser, but I was not proven not guilty and more importantly I was not proven innocent of all charges..
The charges were not even dropped, they were nolle proscu..

If the case was NP then I don't see how you have a record. You can now get it expunged so that it doesn't even show.
