Default workers' compensation

Diagnosed with Tennis Elbow by company doctor I am currently involve in a workers' comp situation where I was injured at work. I've been working in a call center for 4 years and on January 30 03 while at work my right hand/wrist was in excruciating pain. My company sent me to the company dr. Once I saw their dr he suggest that I attend physical therapy but continue to see him as well. I went to physical theraphy for several weeks after awhile I didn't think that the dr and physical therapy was helping because it increased my pain. I later informed my manager that I wanted a second opinion and after approval by the workers' comp adjuster they sent me to another dr. I went to see him and he put me on a modify schedule. After that my pain began to be more extreme where it woke me up in the middle of the night. I missed work for 5 days due to the pain in the night. I was informed that I was not going to be paid for those days. That following week I went to see the dr again and that's when he diagnosed me with tennis elbow. He told me to purchase a tennis elbow brace and medicated patches. I wanted to know whether I should be reimbursed for the items and whether I should be paid for the days I missed? This is all new to me and I can't seem to get any answers from anyone even from the H.R. person I'm extremely confused and considering a lawyer.

Default What is Legal?

Are you required to have worker's compensation before hiring employees? There was an incident where an ex employee tried suing my ex employer because he supposely got hurt on the job and at the time this employer did not have workers compensation when he found out he was being sued he went out and got workers compenstion. Is that Legal?
