I suggest you speak to an attorney regarding the legal requirements for a will in Alabama. However, the way I look at it, getting a will, or any other legal document, notarized doesn't hurt. If a notary is requried, great you've satisfied the requiement. If a notary isn't required, you've paid, what $20 to get in notarized, and it only helps. Its up to you.
However, there may be other requirments besides notarization that make a will valid or invalid. Depending upon the importance of this to you, I suggest you speak to an attorney regarding your legal needs with your will, or other estate planning matters. You can find one through the attorney locator service on LawInfo's home page at:

Good luck and kudos to you for even thinking about a will and other matters in advance.
