Default verbal agreement termination

offered down on her luck friend the mother in law suite until she could find a job. She left TX, came to STL. Told me about dog, told me daughter may come to visit when college breaks. Upon move in, man she dated back in the day helped. He wound up being here more than not. Had a sit down and told her that was unacceptable. Deal was for her, her dog, her visiting daughter. Do not know the guy. Do not want him in house. She also uses our basement and garage to store overflow furniture and belongings. She pays us a rent with no lease because it was supposed to be temporary until she found a job. She opted instead to get knee replacement surgery.
After talk when she said it would not happen again...it did. However he would come late at night and leave before we would be up and out the door.
The suite is connect to main house by laundry room that has no locks.
We also caught her doing his laundry in OUR washer/dryer. Told her that was not acceptable. She had an excuse like filling a load.
While in hospital she had given him key to house to get her dog. We told her that was unacceptable and that he may NOT stay here. She told us she would be out by end of month. We have agreed to that and she is now back pedaling because she is still recovering from surgery(she is out often during the day, does not need even a cane anymore. Just can't drive herself yet.)
She is now saying we broke some kind of quiet law. She is sounding threatening. This is our house. There is no lease.
What are my options?

Even without a lease, you have a tenant and you will need to file for eviction and follow the correct legal procedures if she will not leave. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
