Default vehicle judgement

Have a court date pertaining to a judgement on a vehicle, the vehicle is almost paid off but things happen and haven't made a payment in a while, if I don't go to court what happens? Will the judge just side with the plaintiff? If I don't go in will I get in trouble? Can I call the plaintiff prior to the court date and try and settle? please HELP

thx

What the court decides to do (find in favor of plaintiff or whatnot) sometimes depends on what kind of hearing it is. For example, if you are sued and you do not make the first appearance or filing in the case, sometimes the plaintiff can win by default. Any additional information you could post may get you better responses here.
