Unhappy used some one elses credit card! help!!

I used someone else's credit card with out their specifc consent. I am very scared because they called the cops. Here is what happened: My roommate borrowed money from me $70 to fill up his gas tank, he promised he would return to give me a ride to a job interview I had that was 40 minutes away. He never came back but left me his credit cards and said I could use it for a ride, I called a cab and got a ride to the interview. However when I payed the cab I accidentally used a card in his wallet that was of one of his employees. I noticed that I used the wrong card when I had to sign, so I signed the name that was on the card. The card holder was unaware and called the cops. It was for a charge of $72. Now I am scared because the cops can trace back my phone number from the cab and trace it to me. I had no intentions of not paying the girl back (actually my roommate had assured me he would pay her since he owed me money) but he told the cops nothing. how do fix this?? i dont want to get in trouble and im sooooo scared!!! i want to make this right. am i going to jail?

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
