I'm not sure how it works, but if there is a mandatory meeting at work, and I'm not getting paid for it, is it really mandatory? and can i get fired for not going? What I really want to know is whether its legal or not to post an unpaid mandatory work meeting. please help!!

You can be fired for not attending work as required by your employer. However, your employer doesn't get to decide not to pay you for attending. If they do, then it's time to file a complaint with the FL Dept of Labor.
