Unhappy unlawful termination

Terminated for poor communication between charge nurse and supervisor. charge nurse sai she didn't release me to go home, however stated that "We'll get you out of here as soon as you give report." Gave report, attempted to speak with supervisor, no voice, and asked charge to relay message for me. No policy in place for directly being released by supervisor, no witnesses between myself and charge nurse regarding conversation. Terminated on grounds I didn't speak directly with supervisor, although call was placed to her, and she said she would be down shortly, no time specified. Charge nurse is fairly new, and I believe she didn't want to get in trouble, and told supervisor I left without permission. Grievance filed with union. unemployed, and getting unemployment benefits for which there is adjudication meeting upcoming. What to do?

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
