Default ''.....unfortunately its a 164 dollar fine..."

Okay, here's my problem. I was in Florida last night driving back home to Georgia. Stop at a truck stop for food and fuel. Than I hit the road again. I make the left onto the on ramp and merge onto the interstate. I barely get a quarter mile down when I see the trooper lights behind me. I curse in a rage, my heart is racing but of course I pull over. The trooper takes her sweet time and than finally comes up. Once there she tells me "You didn't even attempt to stop at that stop sign!". Yeah, well If I saw a stop sign, I would of stopped lady! I'm experience professional driver, I follow every traffic law except I like to blow stop signs.....it make me feel alive!!! Of course I didn't say any of that but I was like "where is the stop sign?". She replies "its there". Takes my license and registration, than proceeds to take her sweet time writing that hefty fine. Comes back and says "Here's your license and registration.....Unfortunately its a 164 dollar fine....". I was so much in a rage I could barely talk! Not only did this curse word give me a hefty fine but she also screwing with my career and of course insurance goes up! She cites me for violation of right of way. She didn't care about I didn't see the stop sign and most intersections( at least the hundreds I've been through) going onto the onramp in rural areas are not stop signs but yield signs or no signs at all. All she cared about was doing her job to serve and protect and write tickets.

What I wrote is a vent and a question. I mean I haven't had a moving violation since 05 and been driving professionally since 07, and I follow all traffic laws. So I'm more than a little pissed! Was I at fault? Maybe .......governments can make laws and rules all they want for what ever reason as long as the people are aware of it . Was I doing my job as a professional driver, following all the rules of the road and possibly made a error? Yes. Could she have gave me a warning and be more than a spineless ticket writer? Yes. Did Duval County, FL change the rules and not give adequate signage for a stop? Yes, in my opinion, according to google maps steetview theres only single stop sign on a small concrete island to the right as you turn to the left? Was this ticket justified and how can I solve this?

If there was a stop sign, she can write the ticket. You certainly can fight the ticket in court and show your driving record. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
