Unemployment payments
I have a small business filing people’s personal income taxes and have about 6 employees. The business is seasonal ranging from January to April. One of the employees has claimed unemployment compensation although it was stated in the employment contract that it was seasonal ranging only from January to April and they are not terminated. They are all hired hourly.
I would like to side step this situation, as I have no business during the later part of the year. How do I convey in my contracts or to the unemployment agency that we are not terminating the employee but it is the nature of the business.
