unemployment appeal
I've been doing some research today on how this whole unemployment appeals things works. I read in alot of case's if you're at fault you have a good chance of losing the case. At the sametime i have read that if it was not willful misconduct you may still have a chance and I wanted to try it from that point. My employer has me denied for violating a company policy which had happened. it was an bank issue with not recieving the proper identification for a transaction, but at the same time there was a history with the customer for the past week about fraud on her account and at our company we had some policy on Knowing Your Customer. needless to say i didn't know my customer very well but she approached with proper social security number, name, everything in order for a transaction. I knew she did not have a bank card for my manager had dealt with her account and had it canceled and said she was just there to get some money to help a friend in the hospital(yeah i know I'm a sucker). she gave me a savings account number along with proper social, name on the account and so on and i ended up doing the transaction, come to find out i had taken money from the lady's mother's account. This was a mistake and i do not deny i had made a mistake but at the same time i don't feel that i should be denied unemployment benefits for my bad decision making. I had came into this field of work with no banking knowledge but with great customer service skills that I delivered throughout my time with the company, I took care of all the duty's that were asked of me but this one mistake left the company to find me as a liability. any advice?
