Trying to establish paternal rights/visitation
I am trying to help a friend, he needs to get visitation rights established through the courts of South Carolina,(he lives in Florida) he faithfully pays his child support and because the child was born out of wedlock from what I understand the mother has full custody until the father takes her to court. Everyone advises to get an attorney and as most know that could be a costly price. Are there any forms he can fill out and file with the correct county family court of South Carolina without having to retain an attorney. The mother of the child denys him his rights (of visitation and phone conversations are when she allows)but of course kindly accepts child support payments, gifts, clothes and money outside of the court order in place. Please help. There has to be a way to get visitation rights without having to pay an attorney $5,000.
