Default Statute of Limitations of Ticket-by Officer

In October of 2007 I received a traffic ticket as I was involved in a minor accident. I have checked every month for the past year and the state police officer has yet to turn the ticket into the court system. I have this documented on the back of the original ticket.
Do I have to keep going back forever to see if the ticket has been turned in, or is there a statue of limitations on the officer turning the ticket in?
What do I have to do now??

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.

Most states the limitations is one year from the date of occurance to forward charges on simple traffic violations. I would suggest contacting the state police barracks and speaking with a supervisor on the policies of the department concerning the timely turning in of tickets.
