I'm wondering if there is a statute of limitiations on presenting an invoice to a customer? I had a business send me a bill for services performed from 1/26/06 to 2/7/07 and they JUST sent the bill. That seems absurd to me. Is there a time limit for how long you have to bill a customer?

I can understand your frustration, but 3 months wouldn't be longer than any statute of limitations that may apply.

I understand you mean that three months is acceptable (the charges from 2/2007). But some of these charges are from January 2006, and I'm just now receiving a bill. That seems ridiculous to me and I'm wondering if there's a law about how long you have to tell someone that they owe you money.

Check out your state's website. You may be able to find out information regarding the statute of limitations. I do think most of them start around a year though.
