Default speed and run??

i recently was driving to work and went by a township cop doing approx. 20 over the speed limit. he proceeded to pull out and i took off. hit a back road and was gone. the only time i seen him with lights on was as he drove past the back road trying to slow down because he knew i was no longer in front of him. he never got my plate number and then went back to his spot to continue sitting. question is can that officer do anything if i drive by him again going the speed limit just going off of " i think thats the car that ran from me"

The officer only needs a legit law enforcement purpose to pull you over. If your vehicle matches the description of a vehicle that the officer witnessed doing unlawful speed, fleeing and eluding, driving recklessly, and endangering the public - yep, you can bet he's got a cause to stop you. Most people run because they have a REASON to run - and this officer is certainly within the scope of probable cause to pull your vehicle if he sees it again. He doesn't need the specific tag number, just enough description to have reasonable belief that it's the same car - a MUCH lower burden.

honestly he can't say i was running from him. he was never behind me with lights going. its a very twisty highway and by the time he got around the turn i was turned on to a back road. which when he came by i was already down it a good bit. so he didn't witness me driving dangerously what so ever. for all he knows and properly thought is right after he seen me on that back road i turned on to another back road. i dont know...i feel stupid. i've never been pulled over then 1 month ago i get pulled over going 10 over while i'm the middle guy in traffic because they were "cracking down" and i dont have any more money to pay for that stuff....even though i probably just caused alot more trouble.

I do agree with aardvarc. I would suggest that you speak with an attorney if you do get pulled over for this though. You can find an attorney through the locator service on LawInfo’s home page at: http://www.lawinfo.com/.

You can also browse through the information in LawInfo’s Free Legal Resource Center here: http://www.lawinfo.com/index.cfm/fus...lient.consumer, or search for your particular topic here: http://resources.lawinfo.com/index.html.
