Default Social Security and Alimony Please Help

My ex husband has been in arrears on his alimony for several years, how do I go about garninshing his social security? I'm in Arizona and he's in Pennsylvania. Do I need to hire an attorney? I really don't have the budget for that, can I go to the courthouse and file some papers on my own? Please help I'm in a terrible fix.

I understand that this is a stressful situation for you. You always can file papers yourself, but it may be a little complicated since he is in a different state. Your best bet may be to speak with an attorney that has expertise in this area of law. You can locate one in your area through the attorney locator on Lawinfo's home page at http://www.lawinfo.com/. Some offer free consultations.

mmm go to the court you got the divorce in and write a letter to the judge and ask for a hearing. alternatively and definitely the attorney that handled your divorce contact and another attorney if he is not willing to help.

Dear Men's rights - I understand your position thoroghly. I am a second wife and had to deal with wage garnishment to the tune of $1050/mo and literally go hungry while the ex spent all the money on herself. But don't be so frothing. I am a mens/fathers rights advocate as well, but being so adamant makes your position less sympathetic.

Best Regards

Jackie
