Settlement of estate -- mistrust of executor
Three sisters, two in small town in Kentucky, one in Indiana. One nephew, also living in the town in KY.
One sister in KY dies, leaving the three others as beneficiaries.
Co-executorship with remaining KY sister and nephew.
KY sister is very frail, elderly, not quite in her right mind, so nephew responsible for doing all of the executor duties.
Nephew previously accused of fraud, years ago. Known to have swindled other side of his family out of their inheritances (no charges, but the truth is known).
Now it's been a year and a half since the KY sister died and nothing has been done about the estate.
Indiana sister worried about state of the estate -- what's happening, etc. Is the nephew dragging it out so that the estate will disappear into executor fees, etc.?
How can this Indiana sister find out what's going on? The lawyer for the estate refuses to call back. What is the law about the timing of such things? Is there an agency within the Commonwealth of KY that oversees such things? Is there a place to make a complaint or begin an investigation?[/SIZE]
