Default settlement in civil lawsuit

you have been such good help, thank you, now for another question: How do I go about settling a civil lawsuit, I have gotten a motion for continuance but now I would like to settle it without going to court at all in June, is there a procedure to go by or do I just write up a settlement offer to send certified to their lawyer or is there a certain procedure to follow, if you know of a web site out there with the proper procedure could you please let me know, thanks for all your help

If you are acting as you own attorney, you certainly can try to settle this outside of court. Just contact the opposing attorney to discuss it. You can call the attorney, just make sure that you get everything in writing if you do settle.
