Default roommate vs roommate

sorry this is so long. ive searched all over the internet and havent found anything in regards to the answer i am looking for.

i live with 2 roomates everyone pays half of everything everyone is responsible. roomate A signed the lease because only 1 person was allowed to sign it (i offered to and wish i did now!) roommate A is making roommate B move out because he claims roomate B's personal problems are overflowing into his life. roomate B offeres to fix the problem so that roomate A would not feel this way anymore but roomate A still wants him out. roomate B doesn't want anything to turn into a fight and agrees to leave even though he doesnt want to. roomate C thinks that he should stay as well but has no say in it. roomate A thinks that because of roommate B's personal problems forcing roomate A to kick him out (against his will) means he is breaking the lease and therefore doesnt get his security deposit back. the landlord said he didnt want anything to do with it so he gave the power to roommate A (signer of lease) to deal with it however he wants. roommate A thinks we should get the security deposit because we have to go through the trouble of finding a new roomate and i guess his mental anguish for having to deal with this and for having a 1 or 2 week gap where nobody will be renting his room.

i heard that because roomate B is not on the lease (only because he couldnt be) then roomate A is like his landlord through a verbal contract. while roomate A i suppose has the right to make him leave i dont see why he would have to right to the security deposit if we have found a replacement roommate (who will be paying a security deposit) for the kicked out roommate.

all i want to know is does roomate A have any legal rights to roomate B's security deposit?

i really need help because i dont want this person to lose so much money because of one persons bitterness.

Default Most likely jointly and severally liable

This unfortunately is something you will have to sort out amongst yourselves. Just like all of you, or any one of you, probably owe all the rent, all of or any one of you can make claims to the security deposit. If you each had evidence of separate payments, and the amounts (cancelled checks, etc.), that might help you sort this out. Good luck
