Situation: JohnDo just finalized divorce today. Ex-spouse was awarded one of the vehicles and the debt assoicated with vechile. However the auto loan is in JohnDo's name. Is there any legal paper work that can be file with the financial institute to remove him legally from auto loan and place all responiblity on ex-spouse. Financial institute is saying he is still responsibly for the loan. That the court papers are not pertinent to the transaction between JohnDo and fianancial institute.
