Default Regretting my lease

Hello. I will try to be as concise as possible.

Last July I moved into an apartment complex with my girlfriend. On November 30th we re-signed our lease with the apartment [Owned by Lyons Management] for another 13 months. Now note, I moved here from Michigan.

Now, being young and stupid [So now I do not have to receive replies only saying that] I want out. I want to return to my home state and forget this ever happened. However, the lease prevents me.

My questions are thus:

1. Am I even on the lease? The portions the company has typed out all DO NOT have my name on them. They have the girlfriends father's name on them, EXCEPT where I signed them. If I leave, will he be able to sue me? [I know for a fact it is an error on the part of the company, as on the first lease I was listed as a room mate on the paper work, as well]
2. What are the consequences for just getting up and leaving the girlfriend and the apartment? Be detailed; for example, if they can sue me while I am in Michigan, and I am unable to pay it, what happens?

I agree with underdog on this one. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.

Default Yes

Of course they can sue you from another state. You will have an eviction on your record which will make it impossible for you to rent anywhere for approximately 7 years and if they get a judgment which is easy with an eviction, they could garnish your wages.

If you are thinking about leaving, get it in writing from your landlord that they have agreed to it.
