Default recevied points for medical leave (PLEASE READ)

Hello,

I have an illness in one of my eyes called Keratoconus that caused my cornea to rupture and cause sever pain.I received a doctors note to be out of work for a week.I called my manager the day before I had to go to work and explained to her what had happened. She had told me that even with my note I would be receiving "points" for my first day of absence and the remainder of the week would be fine.
Obviously this is uncalled for and she also mentioned it was "company policy" to issue points for absence regardless of the situation.

Is there anything I can do? Please let me know.
Thank you

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.

Where you on a probation period for a new employer? Other wise this a common company practice used by many employers. I've known folks who got points because they where out getting radiation or chemotherapy
for cancer. Nope, company policies may sound cruel but they are well within there rights.

Sorry you didn't like my answer, but no... there's nothing you can do if it is company policy.I've had a ruptured cornea and my eye never exploded. Take the point and keep your job.
