Re: School system and my rights
I have a child in a school area where many of the families are at or below poverty level. Our school like all others have occasional problems with Teachers and the way they handle the students. It's difficult to carry a voice with a problem when the system doesn't look at you with any credibility. Many times this leaves a feeling of total helplessness to protect the child involved. Common problems that occur are: #1 Teachers getting into faces and yelling #2 Isolation of the student..meaning...They write them off and carry a permanent grudge on the student in which the student can never really redeem themself. #3 Making an example of the student and ridiculing them infront of their classmates causing public embarrassment. #4 Over strictness in the classroom to the point that a child is emotionally stressed out. What legal rights do I have as a parent to protect my child when a situation arises that concerns the actions of a Teacher? What type of Attorney would I contact with this type of issue. Thank you.
