My sister and I have Co-POA over our mother's affairs, real estate, everything. A gentleman friend of our mother's abandoned a car on her property over a year ago. He has been asked several times as to his intentions concerning the car but have not gotten any satisfactory replies. Now the city government has issued our mother a letter stating the car MUST be removed from the property or she will be fined. What exactly are our legal rights and obligations concerning this car?

You can call a local tow truck service and tell them you need the vehicle removed from your property and they will dispose of it for you. Or there are usually ads in the automotive section of the newspaper, Quick Quarter or other local publications where someone has advertised to remove junk vehicles. Both methods are usually free of charge to you.
