Good afternoon.

My question is......

I was working for a small orthodontic company for 7 years in CT. In october 2008 I gave birth. About a week prior I was technically let go without pay and without benifits and was told that I have a job when I am ready (roughly 3 months). I filed for unemployment due to the fact CT does not offer disability for new mothers and just needed money to live. I was denied due to the fact that It was medical and I had a job waiting for me when in 3 months. I attempted to go back to work last week and the requirements for my return have changed. I was told that the woman who replaced me, and who I trained, will need a full time job lined up prior to my position being available. I am not looking to sue for millions but am curious of what has transpired legal? I feel I was lyed to, and now I am in a position where I find myself filing ofr food stamps due to the lack of jobs out there...yes I am in the process of looking for another job as well as re-applied for unemployment. But with CT I seem to have to jump through hoops and am worried about the lead time to even get a "no" as an answer. PLease help with some advice or what to do.

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
