Probate, Heirs, Property Taxes, Illegal Dealings
My family has been involved with several probate hearings for the same property-three to be exact. One hearing starting with a guardianship hearing headed by the infamous Richard Gray when he was practicing law. It also involved other names that have been seen in the news for illegal dealings. Karen Safari, Terry Craig, Pamela Redford are some of the key names from Wagoner County that have had a hand in the process of restoring this property to the rightful heirs.
After hiring several lawyers, John Sheridan, convicted of embezzlement, and Greg Meier, our family is exhausted. We cannot get the results that seem so obtainable.
We were just able to get five acres and a house out of the probate, but it is the wrong house and five acres.
We recently requested tax information. The taxes were for 214 acres, but the deed is for five acres. The taxes read as to say, "These are your taxes less five acres of land that you gave to yourself." We do not have the taxes for the five acres, but rather for all the property.
When we go to Wagoner County Assessor's office, Court Clerk, and Abstract the lovely ladies there seem baffled by the disarray of the records and advise us to get an attorney.
We have had several attorneys, who for five to seven years have lead us to believe that my father signed off of 260 acres and we recently found out it was only 20 acres. We sent our "attorney" this info a month ago and haven't heard a whisper from him.
Richard Gray stated in 2000 that my father was the other half owner of the estate, but the records don't show that and now distant relatives are trying to claim heir.
We don't know what to do. The whole property history is a joint tenancy with right of survivorship and my father's name appears on mortgage papers, taxes, and other accounts. Some judge in Wagoner County has allowed these relatives to change the documentation, but it appears that the court has discarded the other information.
If my father is being taxed for 214 acres, shouldn't there be some proof to allow him to be taxed? Where would we get that information?
We don't have a deed to 214 acres, but one must exist, but we aren't being given access to it or it has disappeared.
