I need some help My dad is a truck driver and a couple of months ago he was ticketed for driving with out alicense in Maine, however his license was in perfect conition he tried to explain to the police officer that it couldnt have been him but the cop told him to shut up and wrote the ticket anyways. The impounded the truck and arrested him. He was relesed once he payed to get get out of jail and paid to get the truck back, then he went to Rhode Island to find out what was wrong with his license they said nothing its in perfect condition, he went to maine to see wht the problem was and they said nothing his license was fine. He received a $600 ticket for driving without a license he payed it knowing he did nothing wrong but just wanting it to all go away so he can continue working in peace. Now he receives a letter in the main saying that his license in rhode island is going to be suspended starting 9-24-07, again he didnt understand why he goes to the DMV in Rhode Island they tell him they cant do anything to help him because its becasue of a ticket he received in maine for driving with a suspended license, he goes to maine once again they tell him they cant help him he needs to go to Rhode Island... Why can he do? he got a lawyer in maine, and one in Rhode Island and both tell him that they cant do anything because by paying for the ticket he took respnsibility... This is BULL!! What can he do? Some do offer free consultations. You need to look for one that deals with traffic/dui issues. Yes, I realize this isn't a DUI case, but they typically deal with all traffic issues as well.
