I am looking for information or precedence on a case for an aquaintence. He is immature and pointed a bb gun at two different pairs of individuals he had been jawing with. He then drove off and threw the bb gun over the fence of a business. He is charged with 4 counts of assault with a weapon and 1 count of tampering with physical evidence. He has no money and his public defender says he has a plea bargain on the table for 6 years probation and an $2500. The defender is going to try and reduce that to 4 years and $1500. Both of these seem excessive to me. Does anyone have any input into whether this is a reasonable plea bargain. I would consider helping him pay for an attorney if it would be cost effective(reducing the fine). He and I both agree that some punishment is fair but I do not understand the random dollar amounts the attorney comes up with. Thanks for your time Randy
