I am currently being charged with providing alchohol to a minor. The thing is on my ticket there is no actual date of the crime. It just says sometime in the month of may 2007. I was just curious if they need an exact date to charge me. My first pretrial hearing it was dismissed because there was no exact date but the county attorney refiled the charges. What should I do?

As a judge I would be cautious of a second attempt to file charges in this case after the first charges carried no merit and were dismissed. I am also concerned about possible double jeapardy here. As a judge I would be concerned that allowing county attourney's to just refile charges every time they are dismissed endangers the public of double jeapardy. Unless they have new or compelling evidence I would dismiss the charges again. So I suggest getting utilizing an attourney and seeing what it is they have refiled and hopefully your attourney will file a motion to dismiss.
