Question I need help with an annulment

I would like to know how I go about filing a petition for an annulment. I called the courts in my area and they told me I needed to file a petition for an annulment and bring it in front of a judge. I asked where do I get that petition, and I was told, I write it myself. So, my question is....do I need some sort of legal paper? Or do I just type something up myself and submit it to the court? Another question I have is, do you know the time limit on annulments? We have only been married for 4 months and we haven't lived toghether for almost 3 of those months. I need to get help fast. I am in the state of Mississippi.

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. As for a petition, there probably is not a standard one, you would need to just type one up. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.

Hi LaurieJ, I saw your post and just wanted to let you know that it is possible to get additional information on annulments and maybe an option of doing your annulment on your own. I'm going through a company tha's doing all the paperwork for me and all I do is print, sign and file. I believe they do handle annulments. Heres a link to their site and e-booklet, it really does save you time and money. Be Blessed.

I used such a service back in 2000 they botched my Divorce and it took almost 3 years to be final! I suggest you go with pros. REAL Attorneys!!

Thumbs up Someones experience may not be that of your own...

I know it's difficult whether you go with a high priced attorney or not. I did my divorce on my own. Forget spending all this money just to have people represent you in court. I didn't have time to sit and make sure all my paperwork was right and law abiding so I went through a company referred to me by my sister. I've heard people talk about this way of doing things as crazy and not reality, but it ABSOLUTELY is real. I had a great experience with this company. They were real people. As with everything, there is a process. But the outcome and the amount you save is phenomenal. I can't speak for everyone but I can say I'd do it again if I needed to. Yes, it's always good to speak with an atty.have your consultation, but ALWAYS keep your mind open. There are other options out there so do your research well.
