I have a 1 and a half year old son who's father walked out on since i told him i was pregnant. he wanted to have nothing to do with my son and went as far as making derragatory comments against him while he was still in the woumb.When my son was about 6 months old we accidentaly bumped into each other at a store and i told him that was his son. I gave him a chance to be in the babys life and then after a few months he pursued a relationship with me in order to "work things out for our baby" i went for it and all i got was abuse from him. he mentally, emotionally and physically abused me and my son was there to see it. even the baby is only one he had some trauma over the incidents. I tried to get away but he would always threat me to not go to the cops and not say anything or it was gonna be worse. I finally worked the courage to leave him and hes coming after me tryin to see my son. the court ordered supervised visitation which i figured would be fine as long as me and him didnt have any contact with each other only torugh the superviso, however there has been about 4 weeks of visitation and and the second week he sent the baby back early because he would rather sit in the movie theather with his girlfriend and not have the baby cry, and the last three times the baby has came home sick with a very bad diahrrea and just this weekend the baby came home sick again throwing up and with diahrrea and a bruised nose and around his eye and scratches on the side of his face. this wednesday hes has visitation again and Im afraid to send him because i dont want him to do something else to the baby but if i dont send him i dont want the court to think im interfiering with the visitation. What should i do>?

Were the bruised nose and facial injuries seen by a physician, or was child protective services notified? Alterations in custody based on accusations of abuse tend to revolve around DOCUMENTATION, preferably documentation by third parties. Just like the abuse, unless and until it is reported to authorities, the legal status is that "it never happened". You certainly have every right NOT to report anything, but without reporting it, courts and authorities have no basis from which to help you.
