Default My boss knows he hired a drug dealer and I want to quit!

I have wanted to quit my job for sometime now due to my boss hiring a drug dealer which he knew they were and I told on them and now I am being harrassed and treated terribly for this. Can I still get unemployment if I quit due to this hostile working envirnment?

Resignation usually means you will be denied benefits however you can appeal. The possiblities your appeal will be successful are unknown. It might be wiser to keep your current job while looking for another. By the way you mention harassment. You were not detailed and this could work in your favor. Depending on the harassment you could file a complaint with your employer and if nothing is done then with a State agency

I can understand this is a frustrating situation. "Hostile working environment" usually refers to sexual harassment, as underdog mentioned. Do you have a question about sexual harassment?

What exactly do you mean you "told on them".. .told what, on who? And after this you are being treated like what, and by whom? Any additional clarification you can provide may help you get better responses.

In general, you can only qualifiy for unemployment in most states if you are laid off or terminated for reasons other than misconduct. Quitting usually disqualifies you from unemployment... or else everyone would quit jobs they don't like and collect unemployment. You can learn more about unemployment through LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center here: http://resources.lawinfo.com/Search....tateName:Idaho.
