Moved to NJ when house in Fl was being short sold. Most of debt from Fl. Used CC's to survive when moving. Can't afford to pay and take care of family. Doing the waiting game to see what Credit Union will do over short sale. Short sale was $100,000 less than what I owe them. Houses dropped a lot in my area. Do I have to file bankruptcy in Florida or where I reside now? House was sold in May. Still waiting to hear from Credit Union. Very hard to get a hold of them.Wasn't sure if I should contact them and see what they'll do or just wait.. Incompitents we are dealing with at this credit union. Three different people dealt with my house before they finally agreed to sell it. Should I just wait until tax tiime and see what they pull. I own nothing. Have a family and trying to start over in new state but have too much debt. Stopped paying everyone except utilities and rent. Do I have to get an attorney for the area I live? I may relocate during bankruptcy, out of county etc... How do I handle this all. or just wait for now.? Thank you
