Angry morgage company harrasses elderly person

my mothers mortgage company has increased her mortgage by adding insurance coverage to the loan and paying the property taxes before they're due.

Property taxes aren't due in full until December 31, 2009 of this year. It's under the property owners discrection to pay the taxes before or up to December 31, 2009. Mortgage company went ahead and paid the taxes in full. and is adding $200 to the loan.

Also, the house has insurance coverage as of October 18, 2008 and goes until October 18, 2009.

The bank requested and noted insurance coverage as of November 1st, 2008. Our proof was submitted to the bank by certified mail. They have the information for the insurance and property taxes.

They've now added a total of $400.00 to the loan bringing it up to $600.00 per month.

do i have a lawsuit against the bank? how can I get the bank to seize the interest and late fee's - payments etc. until this matter is handled accordingly.

Also, my mother is the borrower of the loan and she's now age 86. and i believe the bank is using her age against her for harrassement and age discrimination.
Thanks - the beast

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.

First, lenders always pay the property tax in majority of mortgage deals; this prevents any issues that can arise with the state or county seeking to sell off the property to settle past due property tax. This amount for property tax is always absorbed via monthly payments to the borrower. Yes, all lenders require you to have homeowners insurance on your property during the duration of the loan.
