I started my employment from last year (December 2009.) My position seems to be end in about few weeks (I think they will fire me - many reasons.) This is my first job in my career.

If they fire me in this month or later, am I eligible for unemployment benefits? I am Permanent Resident staying in Florida (actually, I moved from NJ to FL for this job.) I referred many forums and did not found any similar thread to my topic.

I will appreciate if anyone guides me in this. What is unemployment base period? I am not expecting exact solution like from a lawyer.

You need to contact your state unemployment office. They will be able to explain how unemployment works in your state. Each state treats it differently.
