Default Loss of Wages

I have two jobs, McDonalds and Publix. I was injured on the job at McDonalds, and they sent me to the clinic. I was given a doctor's note stating that I have specific restrictions, such as, cannot lift, push, or pull anything over 5 lb. My McDonald's manager worked with my restrictions and did not lose any wages. However, my Publix manager told me that she would not work with my restrictions. My manager forced me to take some time off and that I would get compensated for that time through sick pay. I told her that I can work under these restrictions; yet, I was still forced to take time off.

When I come back a week later, my Publix manager said that they declined all of my sick pay. They told me that McDonalds worker's Comp has to pay for the time I missed at Publix. Now I'm trying to get in contact with McDonalds workers comp. They told me to send specific documents; and I have done that. Now, they won't return my calls or give me a status on the case. Is it legal for Publix to decline my sick pay? And is it legal for McDonalds worker's comp to leave me hanging and not return my calls? What can I do? Thanks in advance!

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
