Liabililty Issues When Providing Value Added Services
Hi there! I've been trying to develop lines of business with other businesses such as Charter apartment communities etc. and have run into a brick wall due to their fear of liability. I'm suggesting that these companies connect with me as a strategic partner (no money changes hands) to alert their client base about my services. They simply advise their clients that our service is available. It is up to the client / tenant / customer whether they use our service or not. If they decide to use our service they simply call advise they are a client of the strategic partner we provide a discount as agreed upon and we handle the requested work order (errand / concierge service etc.). Our company is licensed bonded and insured (our independent contractors are covered under a blanket employee dishonesty policy). Additionally we require that our independent contractors have valid auto insurance and must undergo a thorough screening via a 3rd party vendor before we will even work with them. I need to know what is the fear of these companies and how to either ease this fear get around it or join them! HELP! Any assistance in this area is greatly appreciated.
