I need to know if there is a statute of limitations for filing a legal malpractice lawsuit. If there is when does it start? I filed a complaint in Topeka a year and 8 months ago but the malpractice actually happened 2 and a half years ago. I have been waiting for the results of the investigation from Topeka before filing my civil lawsuit. It just now came to an end. Can I still file my case? Also how do I find out if this particular lawyer carries malpractice insurance? I'll have better luck finding a lawyer to take my case if he does.
