Legal Age to Drop out
I need to know what the legal age to drop out of school is without parent's consent. Before anybody says anything which I know someone will there is a long story behind this.

Drop Out
Ask someone else. I don't care WHAT the long story is. You can't get anywhere without an education. I see it every single day. Think outside the box. There's got to be a way. I know you're discouraged now. But you've got all summer long to find a solution. I'll say a prayer for you. (yes whether you like it or not). Rita M. Boyd Attorney

That is complete xxxxxxxx, im tired of teachers, law officers, and attorney/laywer xxxx such as yourself judging people for not having an education, did it ever cross your mind that maybe someone want's to do something that isn't taught in school? Not everyone wants to be an uptight hard working attorney like yourself. I'm 16 years old and bringing in more money per 2 weeks than most average adults bring in per month. Going to school in a po dunk country town doesn't offer class's for computer designs, computer engineering and such, just xxxx class's such as HTML 101 that you do nothing but paperwork that doesn't teach you shit until the last week of that course and then you make a whole 2 websites that take you 10 minutes each to make. So next time you want to be a prick to someone who is asking a question to benefit themselves and inform themselves, try answering the xxxxx question and not being a royal xxxx saying her/her kid/friend isn't going to make it anywhere without an education.

To Jaren
Please stay in school and try to continue your education. If you're making so much money, let me ask you this...are you living on your own, with your own apartment, own a car, paying car insurance, utility bills? Just curious.
My daughter, who dropped out of school just moved into her own apartment with a roommate a week ago. She still to this day hasn't gotten her GED and has no clue what she's going to do with her life/future. She's working two jobs, one paying $5.75 per hour, the other paying $5.50 per hour and she's always broke. Of course she has a child and she does get $200 a month in child support, but still broke. I of course wish her the best and have always been there to support her, and always here when she falls, I just honestly don't think she knows what she's gotten herself into taking on rent and utility bills.
I moved out on my own when I was 17 and struggled soo hard for many many years, with absolutely no help from my parents, I was one of the lucky ones. I had alot of determination to make it at any cost, but it was NOT easy. If I could go back I would have gotten a high school diploma and finished college, and though I FINALLY make good money now, I know with the education I was offered back then, had I taken advantage of it, I'd be wealthy at this point in my life. Hind sight is 20/20, that's for sure.
I hope and pray you reconsider.

Response
Your response says it all. No respect. Foul language. You wrote to me, remember? I answered the question. On my Discussion Board, I try really hard not to take the place of a person's parent. Go talk to your parents if you are not happy with your situation.
You may very well be some genius that doesn't need school. That would be the exception, not the rule. You may be someone who can start a dot com and make a million dollars. I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING. I am just trying to tell you that from my experience as an attorney for 14 years and as a mother, I see people every day that dropped out of school. What seems like a lot of money to a 16 year old child, yes, child, is not enough money to raise a family and get ahead in this world.
So, go talk to someone you DO respect. Ask their opinion.

Just answer the girls question, don't lecture her.
Why don't you just answer the girl question and don't lecture her I'm sure she has heard that lecture from enough people. I'm gathering from her name she is a young mother so transportation to and from daycare MIGHT be one of the reasons for having to drop out. Not every family is close and willing to help out.
What is the state you live and and I will try and get you your answer without the long lecture. Yes, education is important but so is taking care of your child through whatever means necessary.
Good luck

Smart
You are obviously very bright. Figure it out. Check it. Dropping out is for losers.

"Dropping out is for losers?" There's a piece of golden advice. Are there any other opinionated, societal stereotypes we'd like to force upon our youth, or are you done?
