Ok, so my boyfriend took my car to go to a friends house. While there, he gets drunk, and a friend of his offers to drive him and my car home. On the way, he hits a guardrail and the car wont start. Come to find out, the friend had no license, so he leaves the scene. The cops are called, but my boyfriend doesnt feel right about telling on his friend, who was just trying to help him. Meanwhile, my car is impounded and a police hold is put on it until someone confesses, can i be charged if i don't get the car out of impound? Is there anyway to get my car out of impound if the person driving won't confess?
