My son is in Cherokee Cty Jail in Canton GA-His truck was stolen in July 2002 The police found the person who stole it and set it on fire-The police have had a report from an ex-girlfriend that my son was involved in the false report-He has totally denied this and according to the State Att they cannot as of yet prove that my son was involved but they will keep trying. My son has been sitting in jail for 4 months-Bail was set at $95000-My son has never been in trouble-He is 19 has a job with his father-We have been trying to get the bail set reasonably but to no avail-We do not understand how someone can be held in jail without being given an expediate trial-Why can't he be released on personal recog. He is not a flight risk and would meet conditions if there were any until a hearing-It appears that he has no rights-Is there an organization that looks into these kinds of cases?
