For years I have worked with companies that were owned by the same owner. CPA's always stood behind and encouraged various practices of handling intercompany billing. The accounting dept always handled the books for all companies billing management fees to the other companies. I just learned from an attorney that these practices are illegal. I am in shock!!! Is this true? Can anyone give me any references to research this further?
