I have been receiving disability pay and healthcare benefits since August of 2005 after being diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. My employer's insurance company is asking me to take an Independent Medical Exam (IME). Up until now they have taken my Doctor's word that I am disabled. Why do I have to take the IME now after being classified as disabled for 10 months? My blood counts have worsened over the past 10 months. Can you provide any comments or recommendations about the IME? Is it possible they could return me to work?
