Years ago my wife lived with her grandmother as live in care helping to take care of her and chipping in on the bills. The house her grandmother lived in was promised to her upon the grandmothers death for this care. My wife lived with her for about 2 years. The grandmother died 2 years ago and left the house to her son, my wifes father. When we ask him about the house he says he knows what was promised and will talk about it later, this has been going on for over a year. Do we have any recourse? Their were witness's to this conversation.

The promise does not matter. What matters is the will if there is one and if not, it would go to her children anyway.
