Hoping to marry...
Hi,
I just moved to Georgia with my boyfriend. We are expecting our first child together in late August. We want to get married, but have a dilema. My boyfriend came to the U.S. from Panama on either a tourist visa or student visa. It lasted 6 months and he came here in the year 2006 (a couple of months before the new year, 2007). We both attended the same high school in Virginia for two school years.
My question now is this; in Georgia (Cobb County) can we get married if he shows his birth certificate? He is not legal in this country, but came here on a visa (now expired) as I mentioned.
I am wondering this; will they see that his birth certificate is from Panama and ask for his status in the U.S.?
Will getting married be difficult/impossible for us?
Also, I know that after marriage he would need to file for the I-130 and so on...I just need to know how or if we can marry without a problem.
I don't think this helps, but he has a 'permanent resident' card and Social Security card (both fake)...I'm assuming I can't show the fake resident card when trying to get married?
PLEASE help me! Thank you,
Jasmine
