Default HOA not securing my private information

Hi. I lived in a subdivision manage by HOA. Recently I did a search on google on my home address. To my surprise it has a few hit results to my subdivision website. The website has some private information that is not secure and protected. I'm able to see their "Collection Litigation Report" showing how much money I and other individuals owe them and silly thing like covenant violation drive through, and along with other information.

They also carelessly put up there website credential. Bottom line is they should do more to secure my data. I have 2 questions:

1. What kind of action should I take?

2. Since they carelessly put up there username and password, will I get into trouble if I log into there account and do malicious thing to it?

I really hated them. HOA complaint just about everything. I'm paying them a lot of money each year and yet they can not do their job properly. What's wrong with these people?

THank

Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.

I was a bookkeeper for a HOA last year in Florida and was also in charge of complaints and HOA violations. We never put any info on our members on a website. If I were you I would go to their office and demand a copy of the By-Laws. If nothing there bring it up at the BOD or Members annual meeting.
