Default Health=Fired?

I have epilepsy I had an accident while driving my car on 10-9-2005 which caused a compression facture of the L3 vertebrae. Doctor restricted the amount of weight I can lift to only 50lbs the rest of my life. My employer at the time then actually fired me. I can not get another job due to them health reasons. Please don't tell me that a company can not do that because my friend they will. My question is can a company fire a person for health related reasons? If not what can I do about what my former employer did? Please any one who can answer these question I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a brother who is incarcerated and in work release. It took him months for find a job because he was being honest on his app. He's also epileptic. He worked there at least 2 months without have a seizure. Just so happened, the company liked his work and put him on a machine. They knew he was supposed to operate machinery but they put him there anyway telling him either that or they didn't have anymore work. He went and did well but maybe stress caused it, he had a seizure, the next day they let him go. Long story short my brother settled for 2 weeks pay and his job back. I was upset with him but I can't blame him for being afraid. However, they didn't seem to care about him when they forced him to do a job because of lack of work only to snatch it from him then let him come back sitting and pushing buttons.
I hope this helps a little. Do you have a equal rights divisions or something of the nature in your area?
