Can anyone specify how the h1 cap is effecting the students awaiting the H1B status whose OPT wud be expiring soon. Suppose there is a gap between their expired OPT status and the new H1 status which would likely start on oct 1st in many cases due to the H1 capWould the student be illegal immigrant in that time frame ? Can any one help. Is there any thing such students can do ab out it? should they leave the country and be back to their home country? Any helf regarding this would be highly appreciated.
