Unhappy Guardian Transfer?

I caught my daughter looking for gaudian transfer papers online. she said that she was trying to transfer her guardian from me to her grandmother.i don't really know how i feel about this because even though i know i'm not the best mom but i thought that we got along pretty well. i know that she can't just decide on her own (she's only 12), but i may give my permission, i just want her to be happy. will that be enough though? i mean there's no REAL reason for a transfer of guardianship here. so will a court take that? will we even need to go to court?

p.s. sorry if i put this in the wrong place

Where is the father? You cannot just give up custody without consulting with the father of the child. Your child does not get to decide where she wants to live. You certainly can allow the grandmother to have guardianship, but you will need the father's permission or it will have to go to court. Have you browsed through the information in LawInfo's Free Legal Resource Center to learn more about your issue yet? See: http://www.lawinfo.com/consumer.html and http://resources.lawinfo.com/en/index.html. You can certainly try to speak to a lawyer to determine what legal options may be available. In the meantime, you may be able to learn more on your own. Search the "Free Legal Resources" tab, or browse the Consumer Resources. Good luck.
